Hometown Heroes 2026

Florida’s Hometown Heroes Program officially has funding for 2026!

🗣️ CALLING ALL: Teachers, Healthcare Workers, First Responders, Military Members & More!

If you’re an eligible first-time homebuyer, you could receive up to $35,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance to help purchase your home.

Since the program first launched in 2022, we’ve helped countless buyers take advantage of Hometown Heroes, and we’re excited to help even more families this year.

Even better? The list of eligible occupations has expanded, meaning more hardworking Floridians may qualify than ever before.

One thing to keep in mind: funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the allocated funds are exhausted, there is no guarantee that additional funding will be released.

That’s why it’s so important to start the process early so you’re ready when the time comes.

Do I Qualify?

While every situation is unique, some of the general program requirements include:

✅ Be a first-time homebuyer (or not have owned a home in the past 3 years)

✅ Have a minimum 640 credit score

✅ Purchase a primary residence in Florida

So, How Do You Get Access to the Funds?

Hometown Heroes funds cannot be reserved until you:

✔️ Are pre-approved for a mortgage

✔️ Have a fully executed contract on a home
