If you are a military veteran who receives disability compensation for a service-connected disability and previously paid a VA Funding Fee on your mortgage, you may be eligible for a VA Funding Fee refund.
The VA Funding Fee is a one-time fee commonly charged on VA Loans. The exact amount varies based on the type of loan, but it typically ranges from 0.5% to 3.3% of the total loan amount.
If a refund is issued, it is generally returned the same way the fee was originally paid. For example, if the fee was paid at closing, the refund may be issued directly back to the borrower. If the fee was included in the loan amount, the refund may instead be applied toward the principal balance of the loan.
If you have questions about whether you may be eligible for a VA Funding Fee refund, give us a call at 813-707-6200. Our team is happy to review your scenario and answer any questions you may have.
